1.To get to the server drives you have to double click on server_drives then in my computer go to jstudents then photojournalism then 3rd period and then i just go to straight to my folder.
2.We use blogger to post blogs in this class. To create a blog you click new post and put what ever you want to be posted. It is used to do our classwork.
3.To create a pinhole camera take a oatmeal can and cover the inside and lid with black construction paper so no light gets in. Then, cut a small square in the middle of the side then take a square of foil and tape in inside and behind the square and poke a small hole in it with a pin then take a square of black construction paper and take it over the cut so that you can open and close it with ease but not let any light in when it is shut.
4.The paper inside your camera responds to light. So when you take the picture you open the flap for a certain amount of time letting the light in. This then transfers the image onto the paper so when develop the photo it shows up.
5.
Rule of thirds-Imagine that your image is divided into nine equal segments by two vertical and two horizontal lines, this adds balance and interest to your photo.
Balancing Elements- You should balance the 'weight' of your subject by including another object of lesser importance to fill the space.
Leading Lines- By thinking about how you place lines in your composition, you can affect the way we view the image, pulling us into the picture, towards the subject, or on a journey 'through' the scene.
Symmetry and Patterns (repetition)- They can make for very eye-catching compositions, particularly in situations where they are not expected. Another great way to use them is to break the symmetry or pattern in some way, introducing tension and a focal point to the scene.
Viewpoint- Rather than just shooting from eye level, consider photographing from high above, down at ground level, from the side, from the back, from a long way away, from very close up, and so on.
Background/simplicity- look around for a plain and unobtrusive background and compose your shot so that it doesn't distract or detract from the subject.
Create depth- You can create depth in a photo by including objects in the foreground, middle ground and background.
Framing-By placing these around the edge of the composition you help to isolate the main subject from the outside world. The result is a more focused image which draws your eye naturally to the main point of interest.
Cropping-By cropping tight around the subject you eliminate the background 'noise', ensuring the subject gets the viewer's undivided attention.
Mergers and avoiding them-You can be sure the camera always sees mergers, so look for plain backgrounds before you pose your subject.
6. They help the viewer understand the photo and know what is happening. Also, it can cause the viewer to have a connection the photo.
7.If the viewer sees this and its surroundings then they can understand better what is taking place.
8.Multimedia is media and content that uses a combination of different content forms. In class they were used in many of the sideshows.
9.1.) First sentence includes major information about the photo (who, what, where, when, why, how). You may make up the information for this assignment.
2.) First sentence should be written in present tense as if the action of the photo is still happening.
3.) Second sentence should be past tense, and should include background information.
4.) Information in caption should not be obvious by looking at the photo.
5.) If there are three or fewer recognizable people in the photo, you must give all of their names (you can make them up for this assignment).
6.)Use strong action verbs whenever possible.
10.Strong action verbs enhance a caption by giving an explanation to what is really happening.
11.Ethics should not be used in photojournalism due to the fact that they are very misleading. This is wrong when you are trying to tell a true story. In fashion photography this is used greatly to encourage the selling of products.
12. Portrait is taken of somebody else while self portrait is taken by you're self.
13.A good portrait is in focus, has good exposure, and uses composition rules.
14.The major differences in newspaper and yearbook are: newspaper is for things going on recently around school while yearbook is things that happen through out the whole year. Also, in newspaper there are more stories than photos as opposed to yearbook which is primarily photographs.
1. Aperture- A circle-shaped opening in a lens (a hole, really) through which light passes to strike the image sensor or the film. The aperture is usually created by an iris diaphragm that is adjustable, enabling the aperture to be made uniformly wider or narrower, thereby letting in more or less light. The size of the aperture is expressed as an f-number, like f/8 or f/11.
2. Shutter- A movable cover for an opening. In photography, that opening is the lens - more specifically, the aperture. The shutter blocks the passage of light traveling through the lens to the film when it is closed, and allows light to reach the film when it is open. Shutters are composed of blades, a curtain, a plate or another movable cover. They control the amount of time that light is allowed to pass through the opening to reach the film.
3. Exposure- (1) Exposure occurs when light is permitted to strike a digital camera's image sensor or a traditional camera's film - i.e. when the sensor/film is exposed to light. (2) Exposure is the total amount of light striking the sensor/film or other photographic material. (3) Also refers to a combination of shutter speed and aperture used in exposing the sensor/film in a camera, as in “My light meter shows an exposure (or an exposure reading) of 1/125 second at ƒ/11.” A particular aperture and shutter speed combinations are often referred to as “exposure settings.” “Proper exposure” refers to exposure that produces an image satisfactory to the photographer
4. F-stop- A lens aperture setting calibrated to an f-number
5. Single lens reflex- A camera with one lens only for both viewing and picture-taking. The image is reflected onto a viewing screen by a moveable mirror in the camera. The mirror flips out of the way just before the shutter opens, permitting light to strike the film.
6. Negative- An image in which the brightness values are reversed - that is, reproduced so that the lightest areas are the darkest, the darkest areas are the lightest, and intermediate tones are similarly reversed. "Negative” commonly refers to such an image on exposed and developed photographic film that is intended for use in making positive prints of the image.
7. Positive- Opposite of a negative - An image, such as print or a slide, with the same tonal values and colors as the original scene.
8. Contact sheet- A contact print made from several negatives at one time, usually an entire roll or whatever number of frames will fit on the print paper. The negatives actually come in "contact" with the printing paper, or as close as possible to the print paper when in a contact-printer negative holder.
9. Agitation- Gentle movement of liquid photo-processing chemicals (developer, stop-bath, fixer) during processing of film or paper in order to achieve uniform results.
10. Enlarger- An adjustable light projection device used in a darkroom to project an enlarged image from a negative through a lens onto photographic paper in various degrees of enlargement.
11. Stop bath- An acid bath or rinse (usually a weak solution of acetic acid) for stopping the action of a developer before fixing a negative or print.
12. Fixer- The chemical solution used for fixation. It removes any photo-sensitive silver-halide crystals that were not acted upon by light or by the developer.
13. Safe light- A lamp, typically in a darkroom, that allows a person to view light-sensitive material without it being altered by the light. The lamp is generally coated with or enclosed in a partially-translucent filter that screens out light rays to which the film or paper are sensitive.
14. Burning- Also known as "Printing in." In a darkroom, providing extra exposure to an area of the print to make it darker, while blocking light from the rest of the print.
15. Dodging- Blocking a portion of the light when printing a photograph or manipulating a digital image so that an area of the image will be made lighter.

1 I would like to visit the six flags in new olrens, because i could see that a lot of people would of be there if it wasn't closed and that i cold take many angles of people and their families around being happy. What make me want to go there is how the park looks around at sunset how i would see people being tired but still having fun.

5. I would document ghost towns because it looks lonely, everything being rusted and seeing no life in a place where used to be where everyone lived.I would expect to take landscape photos, and some rule of thirds in there.
6. I would take tripods, bottles of water, a camera. I would see if there is a ghost town near me either take the bus there or plane towards there. I would hope that since its a ghost town nobody would have any laws so i won't brake any.

Ethics in fashion photography
1. Change the size of her lips.
Change the size of her neck.
Change the volume of the hair.
Change the size of her eyes.
2.No because it's saying to the person that the person is not what's is right for beauty and we have to manipulate you just to make you look beautiful
3.yes, changing the reality of the picture.
4.Adding affects in a photos to make it look more fantasized and unreal are ok because it can never happen, but the wrong ones are the one that are supposed to be real, the one that are actually happening, the photos that are realistic.
5.The difference between fashion photography , and photojournalism is that fashion photography is trying to make people looks more beautiful by trying to change their appearance and photojournalism is about taking great photos, while taking the photo more into focus and adding rule of photography.
6.Photography can show sometime the emotions of the people and the roughness of life. By changing the photo you can get another photo that shows a different meaning than the real photo.

Negatives Evaluation
19-24of my photos turned out well, mostly all of them look all focus and not blurry.
12-18 turned as well as the last 19-24, I believed i under exposed because my first 7 where taking in a dark room, and i didn't make the eye of it bigger then it would actually be.
20 looks like it be the best photo, because it is very well focus and you see the focus on the subject then the rest of the photo.
Focus, Exposure, I set the exposure and focus of the photo to make the subject clear and visible.
Viewpoint, and rule of thirds.

Photo Manipulation and ethics
This story is about how you can use photo shop to do things to photographs that aren't originally in the picture. You can manipulate photos into being what the public wants, or you can ever morph two photos together into a new photo. All the information that went with the photo can be lost due to photo manipulations and effects.
I say it is acceptable to have manipulate photos and being able to change the effects on the photos and you can get a photo that looks like crap, and make it into something totally different.
I think it's unethical because they completely made the man darker and it's almost impossible to see his face now because of the manipulations.
I think this one is least unethical because the soldiers looks like he is giving orders to a desperate crowd who is in need of help.

Drug Cartels in Mexico
It's terrible, that a lot of people died because of drug wars. People shouldn't of died because of drugs. Mexico needs to shape up and stop fighting over drugs because if they keep on fighting, more and more innocent people are going to die because of drugs.
My favorite photo is the light blue truck, there blood stains and the window is cracked. The photographer made the bullet hole in the bottom right corner of the photo making it viewable where the blood is, and the truck frames the window. The reason why i picked it because i can see the blood is inside the window not outside, the bullet must of went through the head and then outside the window, the guy that shot him must of been in the back seat because the back door is open, and he must of fled.

• Lighttight film-processing tank that accepts the size offilm you plan to process
• Several quart jars or bottles (glass, stainless steel, or
plastic) for processing solutions
• Stirring paddle to mix solutions
• Soft viscose sponge
• Darkroom timer or a clock with a sweep-second hand
• Scissors
• Protective gloves to prevent skin contact with chemicals
• Spring-type clothespins for hanging processed film to
dry
To make prints, you’ll need this equipment:
• Printing frame or enlarger
• 8 x 10-inch piece of heavy cardboard
• Four photographic processing trays a little larger than
the largest prints you plan to make (or shallow pans or
dishes made of glass, plastic, china, or stainless steel)
• Print squeegee or soft viscose sponge2.) Chemicals:
Developer
Stop Bath
Fixer
Hypo Clearing Agent
3.)Put the sheet on the enlarger with the shiny side up, set the enlarger for 10sec. Place the paper in the developer tray for 1 minute, then take it our and then put it in the stop bath tray, and then put it in the fixer, place in wash for 2 to 5 minutes when using resin coated paper, take out wash and place on drying cabinet.et
the negative strip out of sleeve and place inside the frame in the center of the negative carrier. close the enlarger head, focus on the easel, place the cardboard over the test strip, leaving a small exposed. after each exposure move the cardboard to real more. develop the test strip, then fixer if its safe take it to the light.take it to a lighted room and decide which exposed segment looks best. switch on the enlarger light, and place maski9ng easel, then place used piece of photographic print paper white side up on the easel.set the apreture and timer using the test strip as a guide, switch on timer. after exposing the print paper, place it in the developer trat and proceed with processing.

Definitions
1.Emulsion-A suspension of small globules of one liquid in a second liquid with which the first will not mix. 2.Aperture-is a hole or an opening through which light travels3. Masking easel-A big, square model with masking blades, interchangeable blade widths
4.Exposure-the act of presenting a photosensitive surface to rays of light.
5.Safe light-A darkroom light with a filter that transmits only those rays of the spectrum to which films, printing paper, etc., are not sensitive.
6. Dodging-Also, hold back. Photography . to shade from exposure for a period, while exposing the remainder of the print in order to lighten or eliminate the area7.Burning-the state, process, sensation, subjected to intense heat.
Post Shoot Reflection
1. Trying to get the balance right, and trying to get the people not to notice me. I dealt with these problems by changing the focus and telling them not to look at me and do your work.
2.The most i was thinking about was focus because i wanted to make sure my photo didn't get out of focus.
3.I tried to get the rule of thirds and i adjusted my body to make my subject on one of the thirds of the photo.
4.Try to get my focus more focus then a blurred

The photographer used the rule of thirds. It made the child standout of the background and made him the center of attention while there is a soldier behind him. The light that shine on the boy made him more deeper that he was in the dark until the soldier came and shined the light on him while he cried.
I picked this photo because of the continent in it. The child inside the photo is crying because he was left all alone in the dark and the soldier shined light on him to realize he was covered with blood. The soldier head doesn't show but i assumed he is shocked.
The photographer used balancing elements, and the rule of thirds. This photo is perfectly balanced because of the large smoking coming out of the ground and all the small people on the side made this shot balance, and the smoke is in the bottom right corner making it the center of attention while all the people in the side look at the smoke that comes out.
I picked this photo because of the photo, because the color of tone the photo is taken and give off emotion of sorrow that oiled that could of been in use is now burning. All the pollution from the gas covered clouds covers the sun making it almost seen in here. All the smoke being inhaled by the spectators of the ground trying to see all the oil being burned.

Marlboro Marine
A. He used narration of Miller to make the video and Photos more deep into the viewer mind, to start to think how a man can put with what he did
B. The affect was to get a deeper meaning with miller narrating. getting to see what he sees
A The most powerful image was when he's smoking his cigarette when he's at war.
B. The sequence that was powerful was when after miller dropped out of the program, because it shows that he couldn't handle life any more and that he wanted to be alone .
C. It shows the deeper meaning of the photo how a man can live through the photo and how he can comprehend with it
D.They show the feeling and view he had while miller is talking and the way they are placed are helping him tell his story of how he feels and how he he acted

What makes this photo powerful is all the sea's reflection of the sun, going from day to night, and showing the sun set making the water turn from orange to dark blue .It shows the lighting of the sun going down and light from the water shining, reflecting the sun.The horizon is perfectly in the middle, and all the way ion the background you can see land.

Great Black and White Photographers part 3
While i was passing through the photos. I came up and saw Dorothea Lange's photos,
what i saw was the sadness in her photos you can see the despair of her photos
In this photo, I feel the tears that run down by my shoulders. I hear only the cries of the children. I smell the gas and oil flowing below the truck. I taste saliva waiting to leave.I see the other immigrants leaving with us.
In this photo, I see myself waiting for the truck to take me away. I feel agonized that I'm being evacuated . I could smell the dirt on the ground, the winds picks it up and throws it at my face. I taste the dirt . I hear other people waiting on the streets waiting to be evacuated, same as me.
my ideas on sharing Dorethea to the world is by making a mural of her work on a build board downtown.
making posters around downtown and putting a photo from hers and a website telli9ng about her story and her photos. I would make a website dedicated to her.

Academics Preview
The best story
In this photo, I see the story that a young student is trying to study the bones of humans, for a class she had to take home a replica of the body and is studying the joints of the skeleton.
Action and emotion.
I chose this photo for the best emotion and action because of the what he is doing. He is trying to pour a chemical into another beaker. He is very focus making sure that the liquid wont spill over the and making sure that it goes smooth and not pour it around the beaker.
Filling the frame
i chose this as the best frame, because of the bridge that they are looking down on. The bridge really frames this photo, it makes it more interesting by the kids that are looking down on it to see what over the bridge.
